Caution:

  • Students who have been ordered to leave the service after enlisting must notify the college administration office of such order.
  • Leave of absence is not allowed during the 1st semester of the 1st year except leave on grounds of military service or disease.
  • Students who get enlisted after 12 weeks (more than 3 quarters) of an entire semester can have their official grades for that semester.
  • The maximum duration of general leave of absence (for family affairs or disease) is 1 year and may be extended on a yearly basis.
  • Please determine the length of leave for military service considering your service duration.
Procedure for leave of absence
  • 01. Undergraduate : 1. Complete the application 2. Get seals from guardian or parents 3. Visit the administration office with all the required documents
  • 02. Department of major : 1. Signature of professor in charge 2. Signature of department chief
  • 03. One-stop service center : 1. Request / Submit the leave of absence application form 2. Submit all the required documents 3. Leave of absence granted
Extension of leave / changing the type

Caution:

  • Students to be enlisted after applying for general leave of absence must apply for switching to military service leave.
  • Students whose leave has expired or whose grounds for leave have been resolved must apply for returning to school or change / extend the leave before a quarter
    of the semester is over. Otherwise, such students may be expelled on grounds of not returning to school pursuant to Clause 27, Article 1 of the school regulations.

Returning to school

  • Related regulations : Clause 25 of the school regulations, Clauses 25 and 26 of the Academic regulations
  • Students whose leave has expired or whose grounds for leave have been resolved must apply for returning to school within 3 weeks of the start of the closest semester.

Cautions for students returning to school
  • You can sign up for classes only after completing this application.
  • Be sure to check the notices on returning to school for the semester when you want to return since the procedure for and dates of online and offline applications
    may differ per department.
  • Early return before the leave expires cannot be applied for online; you have to visit the One-Stop Service Center to file a returning application.

Student who takes a general leave of absence after the halfway point of the semester must pay 100% of the tuition fee.

Refunding tuition

Revising information on the school register

  • If information on the school register such as name or social registration number has been changed

Certificates

Types of certificates
  • Available in Korean: Certificates for current enrollment, graduation, future graduation, grade, leave of absence, admission, diploma, expelled status, payment of tuition
  • Available in English: Certificates for current enrollment, graduation, grade, leave of absence
Procedure
  • In-house automatic dispenser: 1st floor of the school head office (08:00~22:00) / 2nd floor of Hongjigwan building
  • By fax: Apply at a nearby resident center or the city hall or Gun or Gu office Online: Log in at the school website (signing up required)

Switching majors

  • Related regulations: Clause 22 of the school regulations, Clause 5 of the Academic regulations - Guidelines for switching majors
Purpose
  • To increase the willingness to study and minimize educational loss by providing an opportunity to select a major more suitable to their aptitude
Allowed years / Required documents
  • Allowed years : Freshmen in the 2nd semester / sophomore in the 1st semester, currently enrolled or set to return to school
    ※ Students with 3 as maximum years may apply for switching majors in the 2nd semester of their sophomore year
  • Document : ① One copy of Major switching application
                               ② One copy of transcript of grades
Cautions for applicants
  • Switching majors may be allowed regardless of the current major.
  • If the student shifts majors to the department with 3-year course, their maximum years are considered to be extended to 3.
  • Switching from daytime major to nighttime major is not allowed - majors within either daytime or nighttime courses are eligible for switching.
  • Switching of major is allowed only once before the student graduates.
  • Approval for switching majors is based on the same criteria as the entrance exam determined per department, but the target department may not approve such switching.
  • Students with overall average of higher than C+ (2.5) in their current major
  • Students selected based on pure foreigner acceptance are required to have TOPIK at the +3 level in order to apply for switching majors.
    If the major of the applicant is in the engineering category or art, music, and physical education category, he/she shall take the Korean course at the International Exchange Institute of Daelim University College for more than 6 months and submit the certificate of attendance issued by the institute.
    Foreign students whose TOPIK is at the +2 level are also allowed to apply for switching majors.
  • Alternate service, returning students, or intensive major course students are not allowed to switch majors.
  • Special entrants for linked training are not allowed to switch majors.
  • Switching from a 3-year major to a 2-year one is not allowed.
  • Switching to the Department of Early Childhood Education is NOT allowed.
Cautions for applicants:
  • Students allowed to switch majors should have earned more than 54 credits (80 for 3-year course students) including the required subjects for the previous major.
  • Liberal arts credits earned in the previous major will be acknowledged.
  • Students who obtained approval to switch majors may not be allowed to graduate due to lack of major credits.
    Students from a terminated major will have their earned credits acknowledged for the major according to Item 3, Clause 16 (Application for acknowledgment of credits),
    Article 7 of the Academic regulations.
  • Students approved to switch majors are not allowed to make a school register change such as dropout or leave of absence.
Criteria & procedure:
  • Selected per criteria of department (affiliation)  Application to switch majors → Submit application (to the current department) → Screening (Target department) → Announcement (To each applicant) → Course enrollment & registration
