Subject Educational Goal
Library Utilization This class aims to cultivate the students’ ability to provide correct data and serve information to library users by mastering the methods and skills requiring when using information data on the Internet or at the library.
Practical Major English This class aims to master practical English used in the library such as the definition of terms, utilization methods, etc. among the English terms used in the major courses.
Theory and Practice of Public Library Management The management environment of the public library is rapidly changing. There is also a multi-faceted management system required to meet the needs of the community users. This class covers the library application of business in general and actual community-based practical management.
Practice of DDC This class covers the principles, development process & classification system of the Dewey Decimal System (DDC) which is the backbone of library information classification to cultivate the ability to conduct classification at the library.
Data for Children and Teenagers By understanding of children, teenagers, and their reading behavior, students can master the theoretical and practical knowledge relevant to the selection, evaluation, and utilization of the reading material by subject, theme, and situation.
Practice of Classical Data Organization Students will have the opportunity to learn the practice on the organization of historical and classical data which has the purpose of permanent preservation value and long-term records keeping. Students can also understand the list of actual sites through visiting various bibliographies and relevant sites.
Theory and Practice of College Library Management Library management is becoming a convergence of work and technology with knowledge management as the center. For the management of such college libraries, this class studies theoretical and practical information
Practical MARC21 Through KORMARC (KORean MAchine Readable Cataloging) practice, students can learn how to organize domestic books. Though MARC21 practice, students also can learn how to write the bibliography on Western books.
Bibliography Information by Topic After achieving basic theory on information service, this class studies the knowledge relevant to the professional reference information as well as the knowledge on humanities, nature, society, technology, etc.
Practice of Western Data Organization Based on the practical education of gathering and organizing a variety of foreign information, this class concentrates on the understanding of overseas data. Students can also understand the cooperation criteria and books of WDL, IPL, & TEL for cooperation books
Theory and Practice of Professional Library Management Through a field study on the current status of the domestic professional libraries as well as the overall theory including the establishment, organization management, facility & equipment, data selection & arrangement, and service, this class aims to cultivate the practical ability to work in professional libraries.
Practice of Remedial Reading This class aims to cultivate the theoretical & practical knowledge that can figure out the type and reason of the wounds in the human mind and can heal psychological and emotional problems through reading materials.
Electronic Information Service This class aims to cultivate the ability as a professional digital information librarian by learning the theory on efficient investigation and provision techniques of the digital information established in the digital library.
Development of Cultural Programs in Library This class aims to raise awareness of the importance of cultural programs in the library in preparation for the cultural society and cultivate students’ practical knowledge on the development process of cultural programs in library.
Practice of Eastern Data Organization Based on the operating cases of the Japanese library information center, students can actually understand the system of Japanese libraries and learn practical organization of their data (information).
Library Marketing This class aims to raise awareness of the importance of library marketing in its management and train students’ practical knowledge on the detailed strategy of library marketing.
Practice of Metadata Through a series of field practice including the design, writing & provision of metadata, students can understand the metadata establishment methods of knowledge resources.
Practice of Interlibrary Loan Through practice of interlibrary loan, this class aims to secure professionalism of a cooperation-type librarian by setting its goal in the acquisition of knowledge on electronic interlibrary loan system, data collection practice through the usage of various web 2.0 media such as WorldCat, metadata sharing methodology for sharing knowledge resources, etc.
Production of Reading Activity Material Students will make various activity materials for a reading program to increase library literacy. This class educates utility of production of offline tools, various multimedia & online learning as well as its usage.
Field Practice Through field practice of libraries and relevant companies, this class provides basic knowledge for operating libraries.
